CHELSEA


Goals:

 

            ▪ manage pain & inflammation

            ▪ return rear limb to preinjury strength

            ▪ improve neuromuscular conditioning and prevent muscle atrophy

            ▪ improve stifle and hip joint ROM (range of motion)

            ▪ maintain cardiovascular fitness

            ▪ regain lost thigh muscling



Therapy:

 

            bioelectric whirlpool therapy -

                        (used for relaxation & pain management)

           passive flexion and extension of both stifles and hips

           stretching of all flexor muscles

            ▪ deep heating of tissues via therapeutic ultrasound and laser

           UWT (underwater treadmill)

            ▪ assortment of therapeutic exercises -

                       (used to stimulate use of the rear limbs)


How Is Chelsea Doing Now?

Chelsea is coming in every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week and is working very hard during all of her therapy sessions.  She has adapted well and is now used to all of her treatments and seems to enjoy each one.  We expect Chelsea to make great progress!
