Medical Assessment by Dr.
Wall
Dr. Rick Wall will discuss your
pet's medical history with the primary care veterinarian and/or
veterinary specialist who has referred your care to us. In the
discussion they will review medical conditions that may have an
impact on rehabilitation. The radiographs, laboratory reports
and pain management strategies will be discussed. Goals of
rehabilitation therapy will be discussed.
Assessment will include complete
musculoskeletal and neurologic examinations by Dr. Wall. Gait
analysis will also be performed at the walk,
trot and over and/or around obstacles. The gait analysis
is recorded on video for medical records and to
assess response to therapy on future exams. Then careful
measurements will be taken of the joint flexiblity (joint range of
motion) and muscle mass diameters in the
affected limbs.
After a thorough review of all of
this information, Dr. Wall will develop a plan for treatment and a
report will be forwarded to you and your primary care veterinarian
and/or veterinary specialist so that everyone is aware of
the findings and the proposed therapy.
Periodic reassessments are built
into our estimates and those assessments are also communicated
to you and your referring veterinarian.
