Postoperative rehabilitation is very important for CCL patients, especially canine athletes. Postoperative rehabilitation restores the patient’s function and ability to the level the patient enjoyed prior to the injury. Our rehabilitation program first establishes goals and then uses different treatment modalities in order to reach the desired results. Our primary rehabilitation goals are:
Veterinary Rehabilitation TechniquesWe use physical medicine techniques such as Myofascial Trigger Point therapy, massage, and a bioelectric whirlpool to augment pain medications in order to treat a postoperative patient’s pain most effectively. We can achieve our rehabilitation goals by combining an underwater treadmill with numerous therapeutic exercises.
