Acupuncture

Acupuncture, the insertion of needles into defined acupoints in the body, has been used for treatment of disease for over 5,000 years. Practitioners of western medicine often dismiss acupuncture, because of its “eastern” mystique and metaphoric descriptions. As science begins to unlock the secrets of acupuncture, this ancient discipline is gaining wider acceptance. Acupuncture is now considered a standard of care for many veterinarians who provide pain management and rehabilitation. At the Center for Veterinary Pain Management and Rehabilitation, we use acupuncture to treat all forms of pain, as well as spinal cord and peripheral nerve injury.
